Prints vs. Digital?
In an all digital world, the thought of prints may seem like something only your parents did. While your grandparents may show off their favorite memories by pulling out a photo album filled with film prints, today we show off our photos on Facebook or Instagram. Listen, I'm not here to tell you one way is better than the other. Quite the opposite, actually. We need both.
Here's why.
Backup. When you print your photos, you have a physical backup of each of your digital files. If you happen to accidently delete your online album, your computer crashes or your USB of photos stops working in the future's computers, you can rest easy knowing you still have your hands on your photos. Similarly, when you have your photos online, they're safe from being damaged from water, sun, fire or any other physical destruction.
If you've ever forgot to backup your phone/computer and lost your photos, you know the frustration I'm talking about. If you've lost your photos from a house fire or a flood - you know how devastating it is to lose your precious memories.
It's better to be safe than sorry. Backup your important photos. Share them however you want to share them, but promise me you'll keep them safe in more ways than one.
